Symmetry Surgical is passionate about continuing education. Our clinically designed courses are offered either at your facility or at a variety of conferences across the country. Your staff can be part of an informative and interactive workshop designed and presented by Marilyn Burns, RN, BS, CNOR, Symmetry Surgical's Director of Clinical Affairs and Medical Education.

Clinical Education Team
Marilyn M. Burns, RN, BS, CNOR, Symmetry Surgical’s Director of Clinical Affairs and Medical Education, began her healthcare career in Sterile Processing and has worked as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy Lab, PACU, Critical Care and other patient care areas in both the hospital and ASC setting. She brings more than 20 years of healthcare expertise to customers and colleagues and is an active member of AORN, IAHCSMM, Orthopedic Council, AORN Sterilization Specialty Assembly and attends AAMI Sterilization Committee meetings.
Marilyn authors many articles, CE workshops and training activities on various topics relating to perioperative services and sterile processing around the world. Her team at Symmetry Surgical is responsible for clinical education, sales training and internal training. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and in addition to her nursing degree, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing.
Grants and Educational Support
Symmetry Surgical supports a variety of charitable causes that provide assistance to those in need. We receive a number of requests for donations and review each one separately to evaluate the relative merits.
Symmetry Surgical will determine the amount of assistance provided to each applicant based on several factors, including but not limited to; the needs of the applicant, the relative needs of others who have applied for assistance, available resources, whether there is other assistance available to cover all or part of the request and any other factors the Company deems important.
